At Velocity Complex, the sky isn’t the limit—it’s your playground. Our Aerial & Circus Arts programming is the perfect blend of skill and creativity, turning ordinary movement into extraordinary artistry. Beginners start in our combo classes exploring aerial silks, hoop (lyra), and static trapeze, while also sampling ground-based circus skill like juggling, hula hoop, and poi.

Mini TRIX
Mini TRIX is a playful intro to acro and circus skills for active kids! Students build balance, coordination, and creativity with tumbling, obstacle courses, and beginner circus elements. Perfect for kids who love to move and play.

Kid TRIX
Kid TRIX is a high-energy class for young athletes learning beginner acro skills like bridges, cartwheels, handstands, and rolls. They will explore circus arts such as aerial silks, hoop, and trapeze, along with juggling, hula hooping, poi spinning, and balance work in a fun, structured setting.

Teen TRIX
Teen TRIX is an energetic and inclusive open-level class designed just for teens! Explore exciting new acro and circus skills, on the ground and in the air, while building flexibility, strength, and confidence through creative challenges and progressive drills.

Aerial Arts
Our Aerial Arts Series offers progressive training in silks and hoop (Lyra), starting with a combo introduction and advancing through leveled classes.Students build strength, flexibility, and body awareness while learning climbs, balances, transitions, and performance skills. Each level is designed to challenge athletes at their own pace, supporting safe progression, creativity, and artistry in the air.
Aerial Arts: Combo
Learn both Silks and Hoop. Build strength, flexibility, and confidence as you climb, spin, balance, and explore your creativity in the air. Join us in a fun, safe, and inclusive atmosphere.
Combo Level 1/2 (Age 7-15) Thursday 6:30-7:30pm No experience required
Combo Level 1/2 (Age 8-14) Saturday 1:00-2:00pm No experience required

Aerial Arts: Silks
Following the Aerial Arts syllabus, students build strength, confidence, and artistry while mastering dynamic aerial silks technique, progressions, and sequences.
Silks Level 2/3 (Age 8-15) Saturday 11:00am-12:00pm At least one year experience required
Silks Level 3/4 (Age 10-17) Wednesday 7:00-8:00pm 2+ years experience required
Silks Level 5/6 (Age 11-17) Sunday 11:00am-12:00pm 3+ years experience required

Aerial Arts: Hoop (Lyra)
Following the Aerial Arts syllabus, students learn dynamic skills, balances, transitions, and creative sequences with safe, progressive technique on the aerial hoop.
Hoop Level 2/3 (Age 10-17) Saturday 10:00-11:00am
Hoop Level 4+ (Age 10-17) Wednesday 8:00-9:00pm 2+ years experience required
Also Offered: TNT: Aerial (Level 2+, Age 8-49) Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm. Open training for experienced aerialists to refine skills and build sequences across silks, lyra, and static trapeze.
Competitive Aerial Dance Team
Experienced aerial artists have the opportunity to join our Competitive Aerial Dance Team and perform in Aerial Silks or Hoop (Lyra).
Athletes compete a group routine with an assigned choreographer, preparing for competitions and community events. A solo is not required; athletes who want one may add it. This program is for dedicated aerialists ready to bring their artistry, strength, and performance quality to the stage.
Minimum training: 4 hours per week (4 classes)
- Aerial technique class (Silks or Hoop) — 1 hr
- Acro class — 1 hr
- Dance class — 1 hr
- Comp Team: Aerial group choreography — 1 hr
Athletes may take a maximum of two aerial technique classes and two aerial choreography classes per week. Aerial spots are limited by class capacity and are filled first come, first served.
Aerial athletes compete at Evergreen and Standing Ovation (local), Abstract Dance (out of town), optionally at Circo Fest, and through IAAA online competitions recorded in our own studio.

Audition & Placement Process
Placement by the program director is required to perform on the Competitive Aerial Dance Team. Interested athletes will participate in an evaluation where the director will assess strength, technique, flexibility, and artistry on aerial silks and/or hoop. Instructor recommendations and prior class progress will also be considered.
Athletes should be prepared to demonstrate clean execution of skills appropriate to their level, as well as the ability to learn and master set choreography.
Placement in aerial choreography classes is determined by coach placement. Solos are optional and quoted separately.
